NRA Basic of Pistol Shooting / MD HQL Training

This course meets both the Basic Pistol and Maryland Handgun Qualification requirements. It will include interactive classroom and range time and is minimally 8 hours in duration. During this class we will introduce you to basic shooting fundamentals for both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. You will also learn rules for safe gun handling and the most common “Range Safety Rules”. Instruction will be given in pistol/handgun parts and operation, ammunition and components, shooting from the bench rest position, two hand standing positions, and cleaning. The range time will be split between our MILO Firearms Training Simulator and projectile based shooting area. The “Training Simulator” allows for more efficient skill development in a stress free environment prior to incorporating actual target shooting using less than lethal Target Shooting Ammunition. Students will receive the Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester Marksmanship Qualification booklet and upon the completion of the “Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination”, course completion certificate. Information will be provided on how to register for your Maryland “HQL”.
