The J2 Defense Handgun Permit Training Course starts in our classroom and incorporates a hands-on approach. In addition to mandated topics, there will be a segment on handgun selection, including caliber and fit (hand size), holster selection, carry positions, cover garments, carry bags and more. Once the interactive classroom is concluded, we will introduce you to our state of the art; SMART RANGE Shooting Simulator (powered by MILO) and non-lethal target shooting ammunition.

Our simulator offers options not normally available from other providers of firearms training. Here we will review and further practice the “Basic Fundamentals” learned in the classroom and introduce “Basic Defensive Handgun Skills”. Using the Simulator and its options, the development of basic skills are enhanced in a less stressful environment through the use of Laser emitting firearms and other modern technologies. Using a combination of physical tasks and cognitive processing in this environment we can reduce the need for much of the live fire training. The results of this method of training (which in the past was only obtainable from personal participation in real-life settings), have proven to enhance one’s ability to develop skills in a reduced time frame and retain them at a higher level. This is where students are conditioned incrementally to develop “Kinesthetic Awareness” (muscle memory) and improve proficiency. Using the simulator, you will also be introduced to the judgmental side of available training. At the conclusion of the interactive training, the student will move on to the MD live fire qualification component.

When you take one of our courses, you are more than a customer you become part of the J² and 2A family. As such, we will gladly assist you with advice if needed on applying for your MD W&C“The Next Level Training” .
